Anaïs is a collection of bodysuits created by model Anaïs Mali and designer Urivaldo Lopes in 2016. Inspired by the audaciousness of studio 54 and the supermodel era, Anaïs reinvents a 1980's wardrobe staple for the modern woman with a "Made in Italy" philosophy, creating an armor that empowers its wearer through an urban perspective and irrefutably bold aesthetic.
Born and raised in Toulon, Anaïs Mali's love affair with fashion began long before her career as a supermodel. With her formative years defined by the personal style of powerful game changers like Grace Jones and Naomi Campbell, she found her first bodysuit on an exploration through her mother's closet. Experimenting with different ways to wear it, she quickly discovered the garment's versatility as it accompanied her through the day paired with comfortable jeans, and transitioned easily to night as a bold evening look.
Realizing the bodysuit's functionality as both daring, yet minimalist, she sought to add a greater variety to her wardrobe but noticed the retail market presented her with almost no choices at all. She approached Urivaldo Lopes who had been a designer at Blumarine for 7 years and together they began to develop a collection using both handwoven artisanal as well as high-tech swim and sportswear fabrics.
With their bodysuits, Anaïs and Urivaldo are driven by philosophy of creating a genuine luxury garment, both subtly seductive, yet sophisticated in its craftsmanship. In her own words "every piece is envisioned for today's forward-minded woman: curious, confident and always adventurous".
Anaïs began her career in fashion as a model. To date, she has walked runways for designers including Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, and Victoria Secret. She has appeared in editorials for French, American and Italian Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Porter Magazine working with photographers like Steven Meisel and Mario Testino among others.
